View the full NASCAR Cup Series starting lineup for Friday’s Ambetter Health 400 at Auto Club Speedway. This lineup includes Tyler Reddick — who will replace injured Alex Bowman in the No. 48 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet — and Chris Buescher, who remains well above the cut line with 15th.
The front row features Daniel Suarez and Chris Buescher, who won their respective heat races. The 36 charters owned by various race teams guarantee them a spot in qualifying.
Aric Almirola
Aric Almirola is a professional stock car racing driver who competes full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series. He drives the No. 10 Ford Mustang for Stewart-Haas Racing and part-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series driving the No. 28 Ford Mustang for SS-Green Light Racing and RSS Racing. He is also a member of the NASCAR Drive for Diversity program.
Almirola finished fourth in last year’s race at Road America and was in a strong position to finish well this time around as he ran up front throughout the afternoon. But a late-race crash ended his hopes of a solid top-10 finish, and he finished 13th overall in the final standings.
In addition, Almirola was a major factor in the fall race at Dover where he was running 2nd when his Stewart-Haas Racing teammate Kurt Busch spun. That caused a multi-car pileup that took out Brad Keselowski, Martin Truex Jr., and Alex Bowman.
He was also a factor in the summer race at Talladega when he led 47 laps and won by a comfortable margin. That was a career-best result for the 26-year-old.
This week, Almirola drew the pole position for Sunday’s Foxwoods Resort Casino 301 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon. It is his third pole this season via a random draw. He will be joined on the front row by Joe Gibbs Racing’s Denny Hamlin in his No. 1 Toyota. Hendrick Motorsports’ Chase Elliott and Team Penske’s Brad Keselowski will start third and fourth respectively in their No. 9 Chevrolet and No. 22 Ford.
It’s hard to go wrong with any of those drivers, but you’ll want to focus your attention on the lower-priced drivers in this race. Drivers like Jeff Gordon, Kyle Busch and Kevin Harvick can be great picks because they tend to finish well and earn points for Laps Led and Fastest Laps Leads. However, they are high-priced and will not always be available for your fantasy lineups. This is why it is crucial to keep an eye on the Player Pool, which consists of all NAS drivers expected to participate in a particular race.
Daniel Suarez
Suarez is one of the most exciting young drivers in NASCAR, and his career has been full of highlights. He started his racing career in go-karts and quickly progressed to the Xfinity Series. In his first season in the series, he won three races and earned Rookie of the Year honors. He has continued to impress in the Xfinity Series, winning a total of 10 races this year. He also has a great track record at Pocono, where he has seven top-10 finishes in the last two years.
He won the pole at North Wilkesboro on Saturday night and will start alongside Chris Buescher on the front row for Sunday’s All-Star Race. However, he’s not taking any of this for granted. He knows how much work goes into reaching the top of the sport, and he’s always looking for ways to improve his game.
For 2021, Suarez joined Trackhouse Racing to drive the No. 99 car, which was previously driven by Carl Edwards. This was his best opportunity to break into the Cup Series, and he took advantage of it. He won a pair of heat races and scored a top-five finish in the All-Star Race. He’ll look to continue this run of success at Road America.
Despite some hiccups, Suarez has made a fast start to his Cup career. He won a pair of races in the season opener and finished second in another. He’s been able to stay within the playoff cut and is currently fifth in the standings. He’s got a great chance to secure his spot in the championship chase with a good finish at Pocono this weekend.
There’s been plenty of drama at the track this weekend, including a frightening moment on pit road during qualifying. Tyler Reddick almost ran into his crew chief’s trailer on pit road, but the team was able to save him and avoid a major crash. It’s the kind of thing that could have easily ended up with both of them going out, and it shows how well the Gaunt Brothers Racing team works together.
Chris Buescher
Chris Buescher started the 2023 season as a full-time Cup Series competitor driving for JTG Daugherty Racing. He has shown a lot of promise since making the transition, finishing in the top 10 in all but one race and having two wins. His first win came in the Nationwide Children’s Hospital 200 at Mid-Ohio in August of 2014. Since then, he has added three more top-10 finishes.
Buescher’s speed has earned him a spot in the front row of this weekend’s All-Star Race at North Wilkesboro. The driver won a pair of heat races to secure his starting position. He has also been a consistent performer at road courses this season, scoring a sixth at Sonoma and a ninth at Indianapolis. He will look to build on those efforts at this weekend’s race.
The Consumers Energy 400 starts at 4 p.m. ET on Sunday afternoon at Michigan International Speedway. The race will be televised live on NBC Sports Network. The broadcast team will be led by Matt Graves. He will be joined by analysts Gregg Allmendinger and Steve Letarte.
This year’s All-Star Race will feature 24 drivers in a 60-lap race. Each of the drivers will earn points for their laps completed and the fastest lap they complete during the event. The points earned by the drivers will determine the grid order for the race.
After the All-Star Race, the field will be trimmed to 12 drivers for Sunday’s main event. The driver who earns the most fan votes will start on the pole. The rest of the field will be determined in a round of qualifying. The top ten drivers from each group will advance to the second round of qualifying.
Hendrick Motorsports’ William Byron, Leavine Family Racing rookie Christopher Bell and Joe Gibbs Racing’s Erik Jones are all expected to finish in the top ten. Those drivers are worth considering for DraftKings lineups this weekend. However, these drivers come at a high price. Their salaries will prevent many fantasy players from using them in their lineups. That is why it is important to consider other options, such as the mid-priced drivers.
Joey Logano
Joey Logano is a full-time NASCAR Cup Series driver for Team Penske. He drives the No. 22 Shell-Pennzoil Ford Mustang. He has won four races and has 17 top-10 finishes in his career. He is also the defending champion of the Monster Energy Cup Series. He has also won three poles in his career.
Logano is a popular race car driver who has made a name for himself in the sport. He has a large following on social media and is always on the lookout for new fans. He is a very active member of his community and does charity work through the Joey Logano Foundation. The foundation works to help children and young adults in need of second chances.
He is also a family man. He is married to Brittany and they have one son, Hudson. They live in Huntersville, North Carolina. He often shares pictures of his family on his Instagram and Twitter accounts. Logano has a very strong connection to his fans, and it shows in the way he interacts with them.
Despite a disappointing start to the season, Logano came back to form at the end of the year. He won the inaugural Bristol Dirt Race and qualified well for the playoffs in his No. 22 Ford Mustang. In the playoffs, he was able to secure a spot in the Round of 8, but fell short of his fifth appearance in a championship-level race.
He also won the All-Star Race and finished third at Talladega. However, he struggled to pass leader Martin Truex Jr. in the final stages of the race. At the start of 2022, Logano was a key player for Team Penske, as he won four races and had a total of 17 top-five finishes.
In addition to winning races, he also made the Chase for the Sprint Cup. During the first round of the playoffs, he earned a victory at Kansas and a top-ten finish at Charlotte. He was also a contender at Talladega and Loudon, where he led several laps but lost to eventual winner Denny Hamlin.
